Since starting in 2001, DAVID DEAN has organised, booked, and promoted  many different gigs, tours, acts, events, and festivals across Queensland and interstate.

Having a passion for music from a young age, David has participated in most platforms of the music industry over the past 21 years, including live sound mixing, studio recording, a radio show on Noosa Community Radio 101.3FM, freelance journalist for Tsunami Music Magazine, organising in-door festivals, booking/promoting and managing acts/bands/events including publicity for acts/shows/tours/events/venues/festivals.
David Dean’s company Hostile Entertainment inaugurated in 2002 as a management company but quickly became a booking agency and publicist for local and emerging Queensland bands and performers as well as the local promoter for well known national and international bands/acts who have played in Queensland over the years. Including – Slayer & Megadeth (USA), Dead Kennedys (USA), New York Dolls (USA), Frank Turner And The Sleeping Souls (UK), Parkway Drive, The Amity Affliction, British India, COG, Regurgitator, The Whitlams, Mental As Anything, Daryl Braithwaite, Russell Morris and The Black Sorrows to name a few. David has been mentored by music industry veterans including Barry Bull, John Bromell, Dennis Dunstan, Grant Bartlet and Costa Zouliou to name a few, gaining him knowledge, experience and respect as he networks his business into future projects that will benefit the growth of the local music community, such as Turn Up. David Dean initiated the Turn Up Sunshine Coast Music Industry Conference in 2014 with three other people and is the Executive Producer of the event. His vision is to integrate all music industry practitioners into a united forum that networks, educates and informs industry best practices from national industry leaders. With eight successful conferences and panels over the past six years, the Turn Up Conference has an ambitious agenda for future events with support from local Councillors and industry organisations around Australia.
