New single release from Matt Turner

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Matt Turner returns in 2020, combining poignant, heartrending lyricism in a dynamic swell of melancholic fervour with his second single, ‘On & On’. Better known to some for his time spent behind a drum kit and writing music in the alt and punk rock underground, Turner is carving out a new sound with each release. ‘On & On’ ruminates on the fragile beauty, consistent mystery and unequivocal chaos of being alive whilst simultaneously acting as a call-to-arms to rise above the darkness and live passionately, on your unique terms. 

Turner speaks candidly of it, saying, “This song was genuinely tough to perform after putting it down. It kinda scared the hell out of me…it’s a memento mori of sorts I think. I was coming out of my own long period of depression and anxiety and felt it signified the end of a chapter, of an era in my life. I was trying to move forward and heal and writing this song put things in perspective for me, it was a personalised slap in the face to wake up and smell the roses.”
