I hope you are doing well throughout these different lockdowns and restrictions that we have all faced over the last months and are still in place. I hope everyone has been keeping busy with different projects and your mental health is OK. What we all need is some live music and acts to make us all happy.
David Dean and Hostile Entertainment HQ has been keeping well and busy working on some different projects with the acts and events that we work with. Check out what we have coming up this week as well as in the following months below and buy a ticket and get out to support the artists, venues and events that have been doing it tough lately. Brisbane’s pirates, Lagerstein are playing two shows this weekend coming in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Check out the below details for both of them and get along to party with this great live band and friends at both shows.
Lagerstein have been working very busy behind the scenes and will have a lot of interesting announcements coming out in the following weeks, so follow them on their social media sites which are below to come on the journey and find out what they are up to.
Go over to their webstore and buy some new merch as they have just dropped hoodies and some new shirts just in time for the shows this week. Also, some of the band members will be launching and running their weekly free night club called Thank Satan It’s Friday at O’Skulligans, Brisbane in the Valley every Friday night starting on Friday 27 August 2021 and running from 10:00 pm until 2:00 am each week.

Check out a new festival called Pigstock which is happening at Kilkivan Bush camping park on Thursday 26, Friday 27, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 August 2021 which we are working with and booked some of the acts on it. This event is to replace The Gympie Music Muster that was cancelled earlier this month. Swamp-blues-rocker 8 Ball Aitken has toured the world for more than a decade performing across twenty countries to date. He’s earned a loyal fanbase from his live shows and internet videos, while paying his dues as a singer, songwriter, slide-guitarist and producer.
8 Ball relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, USA in 2012 and has worked with many of the best in the blues business today. 8 Ball won second place in the 2021 International New Orleans Cigar Box Guitar Festival hosted by blues woman Samantha Fish.
During COVID lockdown 8 Ball self-produced three new albums from his home studio in Music City. The single Ice Cream Man hit #1 on the AMRAP Australian Metro Radio charts, and the album of the same title hit #1 on the Australian Blues & Roots Charts in March 2021.
The all-star cast of musicians on the recording included Buddy Guy’s Grammy Award winning producer Tom Hambridge on drums, George Thorogood and the Destroyers saxophone playing legend Buddy Leach, Sydney soul singer Taya Chani on backing vocals, and his brother Dillion James Aitken on keys among others. 8 Ball played all of the guitars, bass and harmonica on all of the albums.
