In the wake of the Gympie Muster cancellation for the second year running, Kilkivan will play host to the inaugural ‘PigStock’ event next weekend, for those still needing their music and camping fix.

Event organiser Anthony Shepherd is hoping to bring some joy to people affected by recent COVID- 19 lockdowns and cancellations.

“It’s a tough time for everyone, so we just wanted to put on a small event for people to get together and have a good time,” he said.

“It will be a relaxed, respectful environment where people can come with friends and family to enjoy good music and good company.”

The event will be held at Kilkivan Bush Camp, with various Queensland local touring artists and bands performing across 4 days of entertainment including Taylor Moss, Pete Cullen and the Hurt, 8 Ball Aitken, The Mason Rack Band and Brook Chivell and more.

Held in partnership between Kilkivan Bush Camp and Ozpig, a licenced bar will be in operation.

“Kilkivan offers all the amenities and creature comforts that a caravan park has to offer, with powered and unpowered sites available,” Shepherd said.

“There will be a large, grassed area with a playground right near the music for those who want to throw out a rug, kick back and take in the music and good vibes. “We want people to come and chill out, disconnect from everything that’s going on and just have a good time.

“We’ll have awesome Ozpig lucky door prizes each day and a major prize featuring a fully decked out Big Pig setup valued at over $1700 up for grabs on Saturday night.” Tickets are available for two and three night stays on powered or unpowered camp sites.
